Superprof is an amazing platform for tutors!
I'm saying this because it is a monthly subscription and once you find your desired teacher Superprof is no longer necessary!
Even if the tutor cannot do the lesson.
Then teacher messaged classes are only on-line.
The tutor we had was being corrected by my 16 year old on her maths calculations so not likely she was going to be able to help him improve his current GCSE grade.
However the model took me a while to understand... as a tutor I am asked to offer a free 30-60min lesson on the basis that if the lesson goes well I will get repeat business.
There's only one thing you have to be careful: when you sign the Student Pass, which allows you to contact any teacher on the platform, you have to cancel it after you find your tutor!

The session was well planned with ample opportunity to practice the sounds.
While I did find a good coach on Superprof, the website was very misleading.
However if tutor accepts your message, they will charge you.
I have had 15-20 students, all but one continued after their free lesson so I am happy with that.
I've had some wonderful interactions and taught quite a few students, really enjoy the in built lesson platform as well.
Superprof is a great company.
They charge you immediate before you even get a chance to see the sight.
As per the other reviews below AVOID this platform as it will just rip you off.

I have found the website easy to use and the staff most helpful.
Then I also discovered that the £39 is not a one off but someway have been subscribed for this to be taken off monthly.
Easy to use website along with quick and effective customer service.
The first payment did not go to my new teacher, instead going to the website itself to "let me connect with all these teachers" etc.
This meant that instead of my money going into my first lesson, I also then had to pay my teacher afterward.
Once you have your selected Tutors then Superprof has done its job.
The platform works well to introduce you to professional tutors with good understanding of the subject matter required.
Paid £39 to message teacher (Emilia in Nottingham).
I think it would be a much better model if a cut is taken from the teacher for the first lesson, rather than all prospective students being charged twice.
Totally misleading as it says charge will not be taken until lessons accepted.
I was looking for a face to face tutor for my son and found one that advertised face to face.
Except two that said they were A Level qualified but unable to provide any proof and the free lessons was completely inadequate.
This feels like a sneaky way to charge people upfront before they even commit to lessons.
There are fantastic tutors there, especially for piano and Brazilian Portuguese, I'm quite sure!
It makes me feel like they care more about money than genuinely helping students connect with the right tutor.
I have been registered with Superprof for a while.
A SCAM company and do not use.
