Moving into a rented property for the first time after living in a council house was a big change, and I was quite worried about the service and repairs in a private rental.

Jo Stakim my contact at leaders was excellent and put a lot of time and effort in to ensuring that procedures were followed correctly, providing evidence etc. so that I could claim against the tenant deposit to at least retrieve some of the costs and the full amount was claimed against their deposit rightly so, although they tried to counter claim Jo left them with nowhere to go so thank you Jo.

At the end of tenancy the tenants simply took their bags and left the house in a disgusting state that meant a full refurb was necessary.

Their response every year is " dear sir, can you replace the batteries " shocking as it should be classed as health and safety issues..
