It's not overly clear how to stop them, although logging into my account I found it.
I struggle to relate to many of these poor reviews.
I use komoot every time for planning and doing routes. It is perfect for me.
Komoot appear to be misdirecting people!
Kamoot VERY difficult to contact.
I lead social cycle rides regularly and try Komoot every 6 months to see if its improved.
While the mapping service is OK, it's not worth paying for the premium service.
I was given a Komoot premium service as a gift a couple of years ago.
Just completed a trek from Salers (Cantal) to Orcines (Puy de Dôme) in France with camping stops at Cheylade, Condat, Super Besse and Aydat.
Horrible notifications that are hard to stop, everytime you unsubscribe via email it will only remove 1 of MANY types of notification.
Very little coverage in my area which is British Columbia Canada. I feel ripped off!
I have been using this apps for hiking in the last 3 years.
But with premium you will see the signposted and known ways highlighted on the map.
I declined the auto-renewal in 2023, but they went ahead and debited my partners credit card for the full amount.
In my year of use, I haven't had a 100% good experience with automated routes.
The walk was entirely on a road with pavement counting as a track as far as the app is concerned.
At its most elevated point there were fine views of the local cement factory.
Kamoot was good for a while, but with recent updates and changes it’s become too unusable and over complicated.
We will now need to put up expensive signage to try to stop this intrusion….
It takes a bit of effort figure out the app interface but overall 5 stars for making path finding so much easier.
Making your own route has become harder and you have to adjust the routes to be more bike friendly, as it sometimes proposes the most stupid roads.
It uses unessecarily many turns down small roads and paths instead of sticking to nice straight roads with bike paths.
Purchasing this app is a complete waste of money.
Before buying premium, it sended me to some non-existing ways.
Additional useless features are added that you need to turn of manually every time, like trail view.
The well established and historical GR4 trail loops around the lake to the west, but the Komoot app route leaves the GR4 and takes you along the eastern side, across steep cow fields with plenty of barbed wire fencing and no paths, which although looked like a shorter route on the map, it actually took much longer than had I stuck with the GR4.
I've found Komoot to be getting worse and worse.
The app seems to be reducing personal options and pushing you towards routes they've pulled in from elsewhere.
It was a reasonably useful apps until the latest update!
If it continues l will take legal action.
Yet again we have had people walking through our private garden telling us that they are using the Komoot App.
That´s how you done it before apps existed, you paid for maps.
It hasn't and after 3 years it's still ridiculously illogical, frustrating to use and cannot be relied upon.
First walk was really good but the second truly terrible so honestly can’t recommend an app which is so inconsistent.
It's worth having OS maps as a backup - the routes are community driven, so if somebody else went onto private land, that's the way it will lead you.
Every year it becomes worse and if someone has a better alternative, let me know.
Poor routes and guidance, and very poor search facilities.
Completely contradicting voice commands and the route shown in the map keeps changing so you can‘t even find your way back to the route you wanted to hike in the first place.
Komoot has allowed me to find so many walks that I wouldn't have known existed.
Up the valley from Le Falgoux to Le Luchard being a case in point, once at the top of the valley, the Komoot route took me east down rocky terrain with hidden deep footings.
