I replied to an ad on gumtree and the seller was a complete racist, hurling racist remarks at me because i repuested a picture of the item he is selling.
The ad is still there, just without images so no more sales, either.
However every ad I have placed in the past weeks has attracted scam artists to the extent that I won't be using gumtree in future.
I've ended up either keeping the items or selling them elsewhere.
I knew when l first sent my message that they would act like all other Gumtree companies and although they have no interest they are spamming me daily telling me to post.

I contacted customer service for information and got a reply after 3 or 4 days that they were not interested.
User-friendly and easy to use.
As far as i know Gumtree is really up to date with the latest trends in scams.
I reported to gumtree but as expected they are not interested in matters regarding racism or even customer care.
Gumtree use to be great.
Keep away from them unless you like spammers.
Used them for many years but lately, as a seller, your images disappear from your ads even after uploading.
It is such a hassle to feed thru the dishonest people and organisations.
The last few occasions I've used this 'service' has been a monumental waste of time.
So you keep uploading your images on your ads and they keep disappearing.
I bought two used vehicles for sale on Gumtree and did not have any scammer incidents.
Gumtree seems to be filled with scam artists, con artists & time wasters.
The free ads are great and easy to place.
