Got my booking cancelled after getting a notification that it’s valid.
Miserable service.
When we waited for boarding our plane, the landlord in Italy informed us, that Fewo resp. the sub-company Vrbo, cancelled the booking, because there money wasn't paid.
I was quite happy with Homeaway, till they made new rulles for payments in 2019, the landlords don`t get payed unless the quest has stayed to the property already one day.
It was hours after check-in should start and we did not here anything from the host.
Before we booked and paid the haus, the owner answered quickly, in some minutes..
The fraud is that Houzlet steals property pictures and content from other property owners to than advertise the properties on the Fewo-direkt / VRBO / Expedia sites at least that what they did with 2 of our properties in April of 2023.
But the story doesn’t ends here, our client one of the legal property owner in the above case has been waiting for 2 month now to get the rent collected by FEWO/VRBO in the amount of $ 12,000+++ and the VRBO escalation team excuses themselves over and over that the money was send by their billing payment partner but the owners bank is returning the money with commend account holder unknown.
All they care for is to get your money and keep it.
We actually had to push this matter further to get the fraudulent properties advertised through Houzlet removed from the Fewo / VRBO / Expedia sites.
I paid for my FeWo/VRBO/Sykes reservation in July 2022 where upon the landlord representative FeWo/VRBO had cancelled the reservation the same day. one would think clear case, however no refunds were made to me, the customer!
It is to cheat the customers, so do not order from them, as you do not really know if you have an order or not.
Upon asking what the problem was, the owner ignored me.
All our efforts clearing the situation with Fewo-Direkt, Verb and the landlord were useless.
For each booking, I have to waste my time trying to contact their customer support.
After we asked an additional info we wasn't sure from the desceiption (after payment), nobody answered.
In fact the support is critically broken, you are either chatting with a total moron or a bot.
Totally and utterly useless, no help at all.
We have our house listed ONLY on Airbnb and Booking,com but they listed our house on their website without premission and they give people a false reservation.
Book-with-confidence guarantee is total useless.
A few first attempts only with fewo support - gave me a strange result "We have checked, it is definitely not a scam, you just need to wait for the host's reply".
Meaning they prevent me from making issues about a certain apartment public..
We tried to bring this to FeWo’s attention so we could at least get a refund for the unused days and they kept asking if we had photos to document the situation. PHOTOS!!!
Even so we are advertising our vacation rentals on FeWo-direkt and VRBO I must warn the general public when renting properties through the Expedia Group which includes VRBO and FeWo-direkt as they allowing Houzlet. com their business partner, well at least Houzlet is advertising that they are partners with VBRO, to commit fraud on their vacation rental website.
This is a fraud website.
To avoid a surprise we cancelled the booking in time (last day od 100% money return at 6PM) but they answered next day and offered only 50% return but wrote 4 differente numbers I didn't understand and asked for an explanation..
On the phone FeWo-direkt. de is ignoring my request.
To this day, 24 August, the amount paid has still NOT been refunded despite my requests.
I never booked through them, I know better, I’d never book through a company that seems super shady anyhow.
If you ask Homeaway why they changed the payment conditions, the answer is that they have technical problems!!
we booked from Germany a vacation in Italy and paid with credit cards.
Host has double booked his house, fortunately I found out before we set out to stand before closed doors.
We had booked travel etc. and were really excited to go and now had less than a week to find something else in an incredibly busy holiday period where everything was either booked out or ridiculously expensive.
It seems there are major communication issues between Sykes and FeWo/VRBO - one partner collecting the money while not informing the other, while the other partner cancels the reservation without informing the other who received the payment.
The waiting time for a resolution is 2-3 weeks.
This with an internet platform for renting villas, it`s ridiculous!
That makes it difficult to renew the house or give more comfort to the guests.
I booked a holiday apartment and even though I immediately received a confirmation of my booking, the booking was cancelled without any reason less than 7 days before arrival.
Dear all: never ever use these online companies.
This Scottish man was stressfully searching for the appartment he had booked through this awful conpany, I tried to help him, still remember the address, Alte Postraße 12, 53840, Troisdorf, that’s the address of the apartment or place he was looking for, but in vain, there was no one, no one answered the bell, the man messaged them and all they said through private message was ‘then you’re at the wrong address’ not much of help is it?
