2March 2025 I live in South Africa, I have not been able to access Family Search for the last couple of hours. It is now 01:19am, this has been going on since roughly 21:30pm 1 March 2025. When I try load it from my browser, it buffers then times out. My network is working perfectly. Family Search is the only site I am having issues with, from my laptop to my phone, I cannot log in. Please can you let me know if there is an issue with the site, and if so, when can we expect it back on line. My email is [email protected]

Anyone can add or subtract any information whether it is accurate or not.
There was no way I could correct it so I contacted customer service and they assured me they corrected the problem.
I like the amount of information.
HAHHAHAHA.
The layout is quite simple, the graphics are nice, there is a lot to do to further the work of the Lord in connecting families, among other religious practices within the Church.
I trusted it until it took me way back BC and to Adam and Eve, via plenty of royalty.
However, I love it when people ADD to my records with information I didn't have.
Incorrect information is difficult to correct.
There are many mistakes in relationships in my family information.
I've been using familysearch since it began and I love it.
Visually this site makes sense to me.
Some time ago I discovered that my parents had photos of my wife and I attached to their profile.
I won't use this tool for my family tree.
But in the last few years some changes must have been made to it because finding what I have typed into the search boxes has become an infuriating task. I put in the terms, e. g William Cato - but get William Edward Cato or Frederick Cato.... anyone but the person I'm looking for and always outside or inside of the date I've specified.
I started using family search c. 2006 and always found what I was searching for.
Even if I wasn't, I would still be interested in using FamilySearch.

Your only resort is to comment back and are forced to participate in a "he said, she said," childish back and forth instead of the site responsibly deleting the first comment.
Elvis is now in my list of famous relatives as well as every us president.
Some of their additions are just plain wrong which doesn't exactly fill one with confidence!
I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Now I don't have any faith in it (well maybe for a few hundred years back) and I wonder if their whole point is to convert the world to Creationism.
Which ever techs ruined this site should be fired.
I don't like that anyone can comment on any post with derogatory, fabricated information and when an immediate family member requests the comment be removed it is not.
You have been adding wrong people and missing correct people ou.
I use familysearch in conjunction with other search sites to get a little better search engine and different records.
It's a really frustrating experience now whereas before it was simple and I always found what and who I was looking for.
Apparently I can tracy my genealogy back to 300 before christ - How can I believe that information is even real? I can't stop laughing.
It truly is the best (I mainly use FamilySearch and supplement with other services such as Ancestry, etc. ).
Some children are assigned to the wrong parents when father and son have the same name and step children are listed as biological children.
Yesterday I go on there and discover the photo they used was just moved and that our wedding photo is still tagged as my parents.
I was drawn to FamilySearch as it's free, and my husband was already paying a subscription for MyHeritage.
The software used by this company is inferior as well as their customer service.
I couldn't edit a person record to change the date from 1936 to 1836.
And either connect or let the user connect to information to build family trees.
It was the best feeling to find this family synchronicity and to know it will be possible to visit the towns of my origins.
They are not trustworthy or serious about your genealogy ,I too have traced my line back to Adam & Eve which I now know is not possible , as a serious genealogist wrote that in 35 years he had NEVER come across anyone who could trace there line bak to the beginning .
The complete deal breaker was the line that showed I was descended from the marriage of Jesus and Mary Magdalene.
I love the Memories section - it makes my ancestors come alive.
Whilst there I chatted to a member of the staff he mentioned his wife was related to Elvis Presley I jokingly said I’d love to have him in my tree.
