If Audible.co.uk is UP for us but you cannot access it, try these solutions:
So if your planning on getting anything from them make sure you can download their app first because otherwise it's useless.
Had 3 credits, chose 3 books all utterly rubbish - don’t know if there is a snippet you can listen to first I didn’t see one but it would save wasting a credit.
When trying to contact Audible their phone back service hasn't worked for months.
You won't be able to access your subscription unless you have an up to date phone, your purchases are only downloadable in aax format which can't be listened to without a compatible device as it needs an app (theirs).
I've used Audible for years and these people have had a lot of money from me, especially in my days of two accounts to keep up with how much I was listening to this content.
What an awful company .
Firstly, the subscription fee for 1 book during a month is not worth it.
Once you buy a book it can be removed from Audible without your knowledge, nothing is owned, you will never get your books to keep, read the T&Cs your just paying for a streaming service like Netflix.
Thank you for your recent purchase on amazon. co. uk. a promotional offer for a free 60-day Audible trial. 7. 99/monthly until cancelled.
Completely inaccessible for people of a poorer background.
I contacted Audible to see if their geniuses had a simpler option without all the unnecessary bloating/ possible spyware?
Not paying for monthly subscription so cancelled…they beg you to stay through three screens of please don’t go and now I have an email offering half price for three months.
Secondly, they have a habit to block accounts and uneasy restore procedure.
Now they again started charging my card.
This is a clear breach of trust and poor practice, and based on my experience, I would advise others to be extremely cautious when linking any payment methods to their Amazon account if they also use Audible.
I have enjoyed my membership of Audible for many years I have many books.
But wait, when one dances with Bezos, one is never fully released from its grip.
No, at a time I have lost many listening hours due to a terminal illness, I wanted to restart while I can and this is the time these idiots bloat the app to a point when my old phone is apparently not able to carry that software burden.
Cancelled my membership on 18/01/25.
I won't threaten to leave as I probably will be soon anyway, not by choice, but I want to UNDERLINE how bad Audible are now, how unreasonable they are in terms of demanding we buy new devices to listen to content that simply does not require that technically.
The telephone number they wanted to send a message to for verification was unknown to me.
Customer service guys were polite which somehow made it all more frustrating!
WTF where you thinking recording this!!!!!
Wanted to part ways with Audible and did so timely.
Also, if you cancel or a payment declines and your subscription is no longer active, you loose ALL of your credits that you've paid for in previous months, again what an unreasonable thing to do.
When I was gardening, walking my dog, cleaning my house , driving or when I went to bed or woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t sleep - I listened to audible books.
So you are given an offer you didn't choose and, unless you are careful, are debited after the free period.
I had a free trial that i ended, then a few months later they started charging my card, i emailed them and confirmed i had no active account.
Books which you have bought are yours to keep.
Your Audible membership will be cancelled on 29 January 2025.
So just to make things clear to new subscribers with the same old question I had.
I had to close my card and they wont awnser or give a refund.
Again a few months later they started changing my card random amounts.
Also - you can’t swop audible books with friends or pick them up in libraries or charity shops.
You’ll continue to have access to your credits (unless they expire), plus titles in the Plus Catalogue.
I hope the people who invented this scheme have great Monday Morning Stand-Ups, revelling in how they managed to squeeze another 8 pounds out of customers. Sleep well.
If you don't have an up to date device don't bother.
As someone who finds reading more difficult these days due to medication and menopausal brain fog, I find Audible to be a great second option when I want to get through a book quicker.
The subscription is good value for an Audio book and has not increased for years.
Any show or book currently on Amazon gets fake reviews and promotions, don't bother reviewing books yourself most of the time they vanish.
