Can't log into personal space or reset password. Nothing happens when I click the Log In button

Hello I cant log on. When i used my normal password I got an error message. So I created a new one that was accepted. but when i tried to use it I got an error message saying $ £ were not acceptable. I hadnt used either. I tried recreating a new password three more times and each time got the same error message. Now I cant even load the log on page. How to resolve the problem? Thank you.
